South London Samba

We are South London Samba, a collective of young people who love to drum. We play energetic music inspired by Latin, Caribbean and African rhythms, blended together with our South London vibe.

We've performed with the Black Eyed Peas (UEFA Champions League Final 2017), Cricket World Cup Opening Ceremony 2019, Eastenders BBC Children In Need, Crystal Palace FC, Lovebox Festival, Love Supreme, O2 Arena, Virgo Festival and Notting Hill Carnival (to name a few). We're currently rehearsing and running classes at Midi Music Company in Deptford, and The Green in Nunhead.

Hi Adam,

We want to say an enormous thank-you for coming and being part of our wedding. Your band is incredible and all our guests loved the ‘parade’ from the registry office to the restaurant. I think we brought some happiness to Camberwell too because we passed lots of smiling, dancing people who joined in with the carnival atmosphere you created. Exactly what we hoped for. South London Samba are AMAZING!

Adam and his team are a pleasure to work with. They brought fantastic energy and vibrancy to the Vitality British 10K and provided great entertainment to runners and spectators, many of whom stopped for a dance on Regent Street as they passed by!
— Sam, Achieve Events
On behalf of Caron, myself and Greenwich Dance we would like to thank you and all of your performers for two great performances at Moving Woolwich, we were incredibly happy with the whole event!
— Constance, Greenwich Dance
On behalf of the whole Bonneville community, we would like to thank you, the band and the dancer for the best external show the school has ever had.
The music, the vibe, the moves, it was terrific and the feedback from everyone was 10/10.
— Bonneville Primary School
South London Samba absolutely smash it every time, they never fail to draw a crowd and put a smile on every face. They’re loud, energetic, not to mention perfectly timed and smiley! Adam and the band are an absolute pleasure to work with – I would highly recommend them for any event and can’t wait to book them again myself!
— Lauren, Lambeth Council Events Team
SWICA Carnival organised the 26th annual Cardiff Carnival on Saturday 8th August 2015 at which South London Samba successfully animated: their sheer energy and enthusiasm combined with fantastic percussion added greatly to our carnival parade. For a relatively small samba drumming unit they produced a big sound and performed brilliantly throughout and were one of the highlights of this year’s parade.
— Steve Fletcher, SWICA Carnival
Adam and South London Samba were great to work with. They understood the brief exactly, and were very adaptable when things changed at the last minute, which can happen in events. The impact of the show was exactly what we were after - loud, rhythmic and perfectly executed. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again.
— Nicky, Twenty Two Events
South London Samba were great. They added the extra party atmosphere to our street party that we needed. They were very loud and didn’t get drowned out by our large crowd. Adam is very easy to work with and there were no problems at all.
— Bob, London Legal Support Trust
Thanks to South London Samba for the awesome percussion performance and workshop that Adam and the team gave at West Hampstead Community Christmas Market. It is a genuine delight to hear and impossible to not be moved to dance to.
— Reuben, West Hampstead Community Christmas Market
Energetic, entertaining and exciting - SLS sure hit the spot. With colourful drums, great beats and smiling faces they are guaranteed to get the crowd going. From 6 to 60 no-one is immune to the samba beat! Superb fun for all!
— Marcela, Dulwich Village Pre-School
Thanks so much for performing at our event on Saturday, you really attracted a crowd and made for a great atmosphere.
I will definitely recommend you when the opportunity arises.
— Hannah, Pocket Places Peckham
No hesitation in recommending South London Samba, who performed at West Norwood FEAST throughout 2013, bringing a great energy, drawing in the crowds, leaving everyone with a smile on their face & a spring in their step! Adam & his band are loud, rhythmic, colourful, energetic, entertaining, and always happy & very helpful. We look forward to seeing them again soon and they’ll always be welcome to perform at West Norwood FEAST!
— Sophie, West Norwood FEAST
Our Sports meeting really came alive when during an interval this young group entertained us with their vibrant and pulsating Latin rhythms.
The audience joined the fun by dancing to the exciting beat.
— Roy, Dulwich and Peckham Rotary
It’s been great to have South London Samba perform at The Elephant and the Nun last summer and at East Dulwich Christmas Cracker. These talented young players certainly drew a crowd and got them dancing. They created such a buzz with their energetic performances. They were a pleasure to work with, being flexible, efficient and having a can-do attitude. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them - and have done already!
— Helen, Southwark Council Events Team
I found South London Samba by posting an advertisement with Ideas Tap. I wasn’t sure who was going to apply to perform at Bring it to Bermondsey but I certainly did not expect to hit the Jackpot with these guys! They performed on such a beautiful day on Bermondsey Square and animated it with such beautiful colours and music! It really was amazing to watch the videos that were shown to me after the event! I also received such great feedback on how lively they made the area feel and sound. I am very much hoping to bring it back to Bermondsey and have Adam and his gang perform again!
